The awesome threesome spent a marvellous night in Macau. We took a turbo ferry from Shenzhen to the city considered the Las Vegas of China.
In addition to being riddled with Casinos, Macau has a lot of Portuguese architecture. In times gone by, Portugal controlled the port city and left it’s mark in mosaic-style cobbled stoned roads, European city squares, tight, interweaving streets and Portuguese street names.
Macau is tiny but hard to navigate. The streets are so plentiful and webbed that even locals find it incredibly difficult to give directions, even when you are holding a map. Also, they drive on the opposite side of the road which I found disorienting. It was a pleasant surprise to discover motorists stop for pedestrians, a luxury that is non-existent in my previous China travels. Also, people on scooters where helmets; yay for safety!
Just before leaving, we went to Toscana’s, an Italian restaurant in the heart of the city. It was great!
Enjoy the pictures!
